This article will step through a basic scenario for using themes.
Here we have created a template that uses an Image Field configured with a default image to display a "Catalogue Item" asset.
Batch preview
Template Studio
We are now going to create a theme and associate it with this template to allow us to create an outcome like this.
Head to the Themes section of Template Studio
Click on Create and give the Theme a name.
Click Create
Here we can upload image assets that we want to use only with this Theme.
This is similar to uploading image assets under the Images section of the studio.
The difference here is that the assets will only be available and used when the theme is selected / set against a specific ticket.
We are going to upload an alternate version of the Catalogue Item image asset.
Once uploaded the image asset will be listed and displayed like this.
We need to link this asset to the template it is to be used on and by which field.
Click Next.
Here we can set if we want fields to change colour.
As our image has a black backing, we will want the colour of our ticket fields to change to white.
We click on the fill option for both the Description and Price fields and select white as the colour.
We click next.
On the Assign to templates page we choose which templates to associate the Theme with.
This additional layer of association allows you to keep all the previous mappings in place, so that toggling themes on and off is flexible.
We select the template and click next.
On the Store assignment page we can choose specifically which stores should have access to the theme.
Generally you may assign the theme to every store that is using the associated templates.
However you may also have scenarios where only select stores run a particular campaign.
Here we use Store Assignment and click next.
We then Save and Publish on the preview screen and confirm assignment.
The tickets, when in a batch, will now show the Theme option in the preview.
When selecting the theme we have created and associated, the image asset in the theme and colour options will be applied.
