Adding Fields - Price

Modified on Tue, 30 May, 2023 at 11:05 AM

Now to add a Price field to the template. Unlike a Number field, a Price field will automatically put in a dollar and cents symbol for you. It will also set the dollar symbol and cents value to be super-scripted by default, drawing attention to the main dollar value. Although you can adjust this to be full-size if you prefer.

Action: Click ‘Price’ from the Add menu, under Data.

A new Price field will now appear with the sample value ‘$99.99’ written in it. Drag the field to its desired position on the ticket and pull the bounding box anchors to resize. Guide lines will appear to help align the field to the middle of the template or in line with the Text field we already added.  You can also position the field using the X and Y, and W and H values in the Properties menu.

Action: Set the position of the Price field to X: 5.709mm and Y: 54mm, and resize it to W: 52mm and H: 34mm.

This field will also need a name. The default ‘Price’ field name is fine.

As with Text fields, you can select the font’s family name and whether it is regular, bold, italics, etc. The price value can also be aligned horizontally and positioned vertically within the field

Action: Set the font to  ‘Open Sans Bold’.

Set text to be ‘center aligned’ and positioned in the ‘center’ of the Price field.

A Price field’s font size can also be set the same way as the Text field. This time we would like the product’s cost to display as large as possible within the Price field so we won’t adjust the Minimum and Maximum font sizes.

Action: Set the font size to ‘Scale to fit’.

As the price is located in the white area of the ticket we will leave the font colour as the default black.

Your template should now look like this:
